Course Introduction
Are you curious about what drives human behaviour? Do you want to understand why people think, feel and act the way they do? The BTEC Level 3 Applied Psychology course offers a fascinating insight into the real-world applications of psychology, helping you explore the science behind everyday life.
Throughout the course, you will study a range of key psychological approaches, including cognitive, social, learning and biological perspectives. You’ll apply these theories to topics such as aggression, gender and social influence, developing the ability to see behaviour from multiple viewpoints.

In addition, you’ll study psychopathology, gaining an understanding of mental health conditions and how psychological knowledge is used in treatment and therapy.
This course develops a wide range of transferable skills, including communication, analysis and evaluation, preparing you for further study and careers in areas such as healthcare, counselling, education and social sciences.
Assessment is through a combination of external examinations (58%) and internally assessed coursework (42%), giving you the opportunity to demonstrate both your knowledge and practical abilities.
